New beginnings can be terrifying and liberating.

I have been lucky in that every time I have started over—moved to a new place or started something from scratch, it was my choice to do so.

Many people have been forced to start over—the loss of a partner or the company you thought you would stay with until retirement shut down. Maybe you lost your house due to fire or storms. An opportunity you had been promised suddenly is no longer available.

No one likes to have the rug pulled out from under them. But the story of how you dealt with the unexpected can help others who need inspiration when it happens to them.
